DuPage County Congregation Etz Chaim Generously Offers Its Support

Dear Rabbi Scheiman,

Thank you very much for being our guest speaker for our social justice program in recognition of Martin Luther King Day. You were a wonderful and informative speaker that both our youth and adult congregants enjoyed hearing. I loved how you started the program by sharing a joke that you tell to your inmates. I can see how you have a calming and positive effect on these Jewish inmates that are lucky enough to have you for their chaplain. We were glad that … was able to join you and give us her personal account of her family member who is serving time. We could also tell that you have a very supportive relationship with her and her son.

Our Social Action Committee recently met and voted to change our tzedakah collection to the Hinda Institute. Donations will be collected in our tzedakah box at our synagogue. We will also make announcements of the collection in our temple bulletin and at various meetings. We hope to have a generous collection.

Thank you again for enlightening us about your important work.
